Atelier Tuesday: A Wintry Chateau Frontenac Sketch

Hello everyone! It has been a really rough 2 weeks at the studio, our barely 6 month old production printer as well as the exchange unit we received has been out of commission and we have been forced to rely on the small backup unit, hence there has been a lot of weekend working and late night hours.

Anyways, to keep everyone updated on what I have been up to, besides a frenzy of production, packing and shipping for 3 international orders, I am currently working on 2 paintings for Sarah of Hip Ink. See blog post here about our collaboration and the article that Sarah has so generously wrote about us as part of her Vendor Love blog series.

This is the sketch here, inspired by images of the building and the streetscape, some linework sketches, and 19th century painted wintry Christmas cards . For those who are not from Canada, Chateau Frontenac is in Quebec City and the wedding will be in winter. Of course, the final paintings won’t be having snowball-sized snowflakes 🙂
