Janine wanted a simple painted cake topper for her 6″ petit four wedding cake that she could insert into her shadow box along with her invites and table cards.

All dressed up to go...
I wanted to create something that was simple yet sweet that still had a little dimensionality to it. It took me several tries to nail the drawing style down, but I’m pleased with this somewhat whimsical version, with the quick pen strokes and light splashes of color in grays and yellows.
For extra warmth and texture I printed it on the same thick handmade seeded paper and made it folded/dual-sided with reinforced bottom tabs so they stand on their own.
