32 Wonder Walks Into the New Year

Dear Wonder-Seekers,
Short days, cold evenings, holiday gatherings and cozy blankets by the fire make December some of the toughest months for Wonder-Walking. And yet, with the whirlwind of the past 11 months behind us and the shiny threshold of a new year upon us, nothing makes year-end reflecting and re-centering more powerfully magical than when it's coupled with the meditative rhythm of Walking.
Thus, I'm on a mission to Walk myself into 2018.
There are truths and stories awaiting me on paths outside my door. I've only to step out and listen hard.
And because December is such a challenging Walking month, I'd love for us to Walk into the New Year together, to see what collective gems we'll uncover through our wanderings. It's us a chance for us to foster a more thoughtful and contemplative world, so needed right now.
For the next 32 days (the number of cards in the Deck for Wonder-Walking), I'll be drawing a card from my personal deck and inviting you along with me on my adventures. There's no cost to join, it's my year-end gift to you.
How to participate :
- Follow me on Instagram to see me draw a card every morning (barring emergencies and digital blackouts) for the next 32 days beginning Dec 6th 2017, into the New Year.
- If you're not already receiving my e-Postcards from the Labyrinth, sign up below, I'll be sharing Wonder-Walking tips, stories, and snippets from books I'm reading or listening to about Walking.
- For more in-depth pictures and thoughts of my 32-day adventures, you can also follow my Instagram travelogue.
- If you have your own Deck for Wonder-Walking, you can draw a card with me every morning (in your timezone) and share your adventures by tagging #32WonderWalks.
- If you don't or are still awaiting your Deck, you can use my card as a prompt or download a map of cards here. (Decks can also be pre-ordered here for shipping by Dec 15th 2017)
- Walks can be short- brief 10-15 minute strolls, or long 3-4 hour hikes. It can be leisurely, brisk or challenging, let the cards guide you! (Labyrinths are optional, but desirable, locate one here.)
- Have your Realm travel notebooks or journals ready to record observations, sketches and ideas!
- Feel free to share this with or tag a friend whom you think will enjoy being a part of 32 Wonder Walks!
It's not important to have the Deck (though it's nice of course), it's far more important to begin this 32-day ritual of Wonder-Walking. Who knows what truths about the new year our meanderings would unveil?
